Farm chemicals are stored so that no
discharges find their way into the soil or underground water sources. |

Threemile Canyon Farms follows a "compliance plus" business philosophy. We abide by all local, state and federal regulations and follow responsible, sustainable business practices.
For example, we worked cooperatively with the Oregon Department of Agriculture and the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality to create a Class III pollution permit that lays out exacting standards for our farm and dairy that exceed any previously existing ones. Our dairy meets a zero-discharge requirement, which means that no dairy waste enters streams or groundwater sources. We meet and exceed other state standards for farming, composting and dairy operations.
- Oregon Department of Agriculture: We comply with all regulations regarding the application of pesticides, herbicides and other farm chemicals. Our composting facility operates under a detailed Agricultural Compost Management Plan.
- Oregon Department of Environmental Quality: We comply with the zero-discharge water pollution permit, reviewed annually.
- U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service: The service oversees our voluntary conservation area.
- Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife: The agency monitors and manages hunting on farm property.
- Morrow County: The Morrow County Planning Commission has approved a Land Use Compatibility Statement that allows us to compost pre- and postconsumer food waste, and land subdivisions to allow for a future methane digester.
- OSHA, Bureau of Labor and Industries, Workers Comp: We comply with all regulations regarding worker safety, health and fair employment practices.
