Cultivating the Next Generation of Farmers with Threemile's Internship Program
| Posted in: Community Impact
Investing in our local community and mentoring the next generation of farmers has been important to us since our start. For nearly two decades, the Threemile intern program has connected local college students pursuing agriculture-related degrees with practical experience on the farm.
This summer, Threemile is welcoming 15 college students to the farm for 8-week internships throughout our operation. The program offers hands-on work experience and mentorship from our knowledgeable team.
To celebrate National Intern Day, we are pleased to introduce our 2025 group of interns.
- Emily is a junior at Brigham Young University-Idaho majoring in Agri-Business with an emphasis in agronomy who is gaining valuable experience through her agronomy internship. Her lifelong exposure to agriculture from family involvement to participation in FFA and 4-H has fueled a strong commitment to the field.
- Caden is a senior Accounting major at Washington State University who is currently completing his third summer as an intern at Threemile. Her passion for production agriculture continues to grow as she engages in real-world learning opportunities to strengthen her future role as a teacher and advocate.
- Makaila is a third-year agronomy intern from the University of Idaho who is spending her third summer on the farm. Drawn to this internship by the opportunity to work with a diverse range of crops, her passion stems from knowing that her work contributes to feeding the world, one field at a time.
